Difference between Profhilo and Fillers
While trying to remain young and beautiful, the number of people using injections as treatments for aging keeps increasing. Two major treatments used are Fillers and Profhilo. These two treatments are very similar. However, there are major differences between them and we shall look at that briefly.
Fillers
You may not have an in-depth knowledge of what fillers are but the name explains what it is to some degree. Let’s get straight to the point.
Basically, a gelatinuous substance that is found in our skin naturally called hyaluronic acid (HA) is injected into the face at various points to reduce wrinkling, change the shape of certain parts like the lips and nose as well as contour other parts. Although, there are fillers that are not made from hyaluronic acid, it’s the commonly used substance.
Profhilo
This is a recent product in the market that gets rid of the signs of aging such as wrinkles and lines, loss of elasticity and firmness, etc. the major component is hyaluronic acid and it is injected into 10 points on the face, 5 each, on the two sides.
There are unbeatable moisturizing properties contained in hyaluronic acid. About 6 liters of water is contained in 1g of the substance. There is no better way to get your skin hydrated. After a while, collagen and elastin levels begin to rise as a result of the treatment and these are two things that make for fresh, health-looking skin. Therefore, Profhilo gives rehydrated, radiant and supple skin.
Differences between Fillers and Profhilo
The only similarities between fillers and Profhilo is that they both contain HA which is injected into the face. Some of the differences are listed below.
-
Type of Hyaluronic acid used
The HA used in Profhilo has a lesser viscosity than the very dense one used in dermal fillers. Profhilo HA is very concentrated and purified while the HA in fillers has other substances incorporated. Hence, the HA in both injections is very different even though it is the major component of both.
-
Mode of operation
As soon as the dermal fillers are injected, the HA does not move or spread from that point and tis is the reason it works. But contrary to this, Profhilo egins to spread across the entire expanse of the face as soon as the ten shots are administered.
- Areas of application
Dermal fillers target only specific parts of the face such as the wrinkles, cheeks and lips. Many treatments can be had over time but one area is focused on per time. However, Profhilo is administered in more than one area. Its action is to plump up the entire face as well as make it firm and supple.

Benefits
Dermal fillers serve the purpose of changing the shape of certain features of the face like the lips and nose, giving it fullness and structure. Profhilo does not serve this purpose. It serves to hydrate your skin inside out, making it softer, fresher and healthy-looking. For this reason, it is often called i injectable skincare.
There you have it. Fillers and Profilo may come off as the same injectables, they have very few similarities. Amazing, isn’t it?
